Community Service Action Plan: For my community service, I plan to work with Leap to advertise their non-profit actions for 10 hours. Leap helps install free solar panels as well as free house repairs like instillation for people in need such as low-income people or elderly people.
Action Research: Since I am just marketing and not directly talking to others, I cannot do much for my action research. But, I am able to look at testimonies for people who have done Leap Services in the past.
Looking at some of the testimonies: Most of the people said that Leap was an amazing product and that they would recommend Leap to friends or family members, which is what I have been working on most of the time while here, the referral program that can earn families even more money for referring people to the non-profit actions of Leap. Some reviews also said that after Leap did work on their home or installed solar panels, their house has been way more energy efficent as well as overall just feeling nicer, I also helped to schedule even more of these tesimones later in the year which leap will conduct.
For my community service, I met with the marketing and outreach manager of Leap, Jala Tyler. Leap is a company located in Charlottesville that helps get insulation and other house needs such as repairing holes and leaks for old or low-income people. They also install solar panels. Leap helps get discounts or gives out free service to these people when needed, but they also help other people.
While working there for the first day, I did a few different things. The very first thing I started out doing was calling people. We created a list of people who had done services by Leap in the past to call them and ask if they would do a recording of their experiences that could be put on social media so that others could learn about the things that Leap does. While this sounds like an internship, remember that Leap does a lot of free things for people who are really in need. Also, it can relate to Meteorology as they install solar panels and fix house insulation which can lower heat and other meteorological events.

The next thing I did while there was help with putting labels on top of postcards that needed to be sent out to people. These postcards were about a referral program for the free/paid services that Leap does. They explained that if people who had already done Leap referred their friends to Leap they would rack even more rewards that they could use.

Another few things I did while there was make a list of events, schools, and more than Leap could go through and alert people of their services. Leap wants to help elderly people make sure that they can get what they need, but Leap is not a well-known company, and going to events such as business events or art events is a helpful way to spread the word. So, what I did was I got a list of schools there were in Charlottesville and Albemarle. Then, what I did was look for events like business events or art events within the 2025 time frame. Finally, I looked at libraries that were in the Charlottesville area.
